Coming to Bucharest with Bells on!

Bună ziua. That’s the extent of my Romanian. Having said that, I am interested in seeing if I can learn a new language at the tender age of 67! So here’s my story: I will be moving to Bucharest in August to teach English for a well-established company. I’m moving from Vietnam (Saigon) after living here for over five years. Prior to that, three years in China. I last lived in California (SF Bay Area) in 2016. I’ve never been to Romania and know very little about the country except for its exceptionally rich history. But I’m excited to move to Southern Europe and learn more about that area of the world. I am an ex-stockbroker and credentialed (social studies, English) teacher. At my age, I'm not so much interested in finding romance as finding someone who, likewise, has many years of experiences, adventures, relationships and has plenty to say about politics, culture, history, and who is also passionate about, philosophy, science, and society. I would say my best feature is my sense of humor which, of course, would simply be lost in translation to someone not immersed in American culture (not that I am a fan of America, these days), However, I am willing to see if I can connect with an intelligent lady from another cultural background. I’m also open to meeting another ex-pat but I’m assuming there’s probably none in my age range residing in Romania. Prove me wrong!
