Keeping warm in a cold, cold place

I feel a little shy when I need to describe myself. Personality-wise, the first word that comes to mind when I think of myself is "geek": I'm smart, educated and a little socially awkward. Other than that, I feel good when I'm surrounded by people, who I can talk to, share ideas, thoughts, feelings, sensations. And I've been told I'm caring and a good listener. But it would feel great to have someone take care of me, too, from time to time. :) I'm currently pursuing a career in research - just started out as a PhD candidate. I'm not sure I want to stay in Academia, but that's for the future to decide. I don't feel comfortable in loud, noisy, smoke-filled clubs - I'd rather curl up with a book (on my beloved Kindle). I love fiction of many types, but these days I feel most excited about fantasy literature. And I can name even obscure characters from Greek mythology. I love listening to classic rock and symphonic metal, but also oldies and French chansons. Generally, music that conveys a sense of power, that makes me feel overwhelmed and elated at the same time.. And I also adore going to museums, art galleries, the Opera or the theater. And swimming! And cooking! And reading about topics close to my heart, such as healthy living and, recently, psychology. And, sometimes, just hanging out with friends in a place with soft music playing in the background, and musing about life... I would feel best next to a man who is smart, educated, polite and caring. :)
